Project Description
We have been looking after a Site of Local Importance for Nature Conservation (SLINC) area on the common for over 10 years during which time we have received thousands of pounds in grants. This money has been used to create ponds to encourage amphibians and dragonflies; install paths and information boards to create a two kilometre walk round the SLINC area; install bridges over the brook; create butterfly bunds to increase the number and variety of butterflies; buy equipment for the use of local schools.
We regularly clear litter from the common and once a year have a big clean up supported by the local rugby club and scout group.
