Project Description

As a group we help to maintain the Gaywood Valley area for wildlife to the best of our abilities. Our winter work is focused on scrub clearance - cutting back, pruning and pollarding as necessary to ensure each habitat is in tip top condition for the following year. We also carry out general maintenance across the site as required such as woodchipping paths.

We meet every Monday at 9.30am ready for a 10am start on site and last until around 1pm.

You do NOT have to be physically fit to take part, please only do what you feel able to. Most sessions include the chance to learn a bit more about wildlife, as well as trying some practical conservation work if you wish

We will provide any tools required, protective equipment and light refreshments, usually something like tea and biscuits. Please wear old working clothes suitable for the weather, and stout boots or wellingtons.
